Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS offers you an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-hem Lunden receives women with alcohol, drug, or polydrug addiction. We accept clients with mental health issues and clients who require medical nursing care. We have operations in Lund.
Job Description
Do you want to make a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that routines on the ward function as intended. You play a major role in the stability and security of our clients, providing the foundation of daily life through activities, walks, cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and security on the institution according to our procedures. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building safe relationships and contribute to ensuring our clients receive the safety and security they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule covering day, evening, and weekend shifts.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's 10-week basic training. The course alternates between theory and guided introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, strong empathetic ability, and the capacity to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- A minimum 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.*
- Category B driver's license
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
- Experience in substance abuse care
- Experience in psychiatric risk care
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Prison Officer
- Security guard training
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., case worker at the Detention Centre
- Training in healthcare and social care

*Exceptions to the requirement of a minimum two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The position is a short-term temporary contract but with the possibility of extension.
